Recently I proposed an alternate way to think about our website, trying to achieve a couple of objectives

  • reduce the energy we spend maintaining a site when the value to the unit for that work is unclear at best
  • move the unit thinking in the direction of Web 2.0, by trying to implement it

As part of that thinking, I’ve been looking into how Blogger, our chosen blog tool, handles trackback. Sigh, Blogger doesn’t do it, it uses a slower “linkback” technology. But its not clear that linkback from Blogger to other blogs ever happens. Resulting in no conversation between blogs, where the point is to foster conversation. As a result, we are moving the CTLT blog to WordPress hosting where trackback/pingback is real.

Further, I’m working on understanding Technorati. One step was to register this blog, see our Technorati Profile. Another step is to try to learn more about Technorati tags.

PS. To add insult to injury, Blogger has now decided our former blog is a spam blog and require us to use a Captcha to edit (after logging in). So much for making blog posts rich in contextualized links.
